WORST.. FUCKING.. PLAY.. EVER

Remind me to NOT play the 3$ rebuys EVER AGAIN. First the funniest hand of the night. A guy pushes all in (32K) pre-flop with AA. Some guy "by accident" calls with 26o. He had about 42K. The flop comes 26o and Mr. AA is out.

Now for my sad story. I push all in vs KT and 99 and win when the river brings me a nice Ace. I get up to 30K in chips and get QQ with a Q of diamonds. The flop is three diamonds and I push all in. A F*tard calls my all in for 26K (he had 60K at the time) with the Ace high 4-card flush draw. Nothing else. Of course he wins. Worst pre-flop call of 10K, Worse flop call of 26K EVER! I hate these morons. I would have been sitting pretty in this game. There were 380+ left out of 2500 and if I had won that hand I would have been sitting in the top 30. First place pays 5K. I am extremely pissed right now. Oh well. There is always tomorrow...

That was barely a bad beat.

I can't say anything about the preflop call, but your postflop play was weak.

You gave him two cards to draw the flush. With 9 outs for the flush he had 38% chance to win. With 8 outs he had 34%. With 7 outs he had 30%. Even if you had a made flush he was only 1-to-2 against to win. With those odds and the stacks in question, I would have taken the chance to bust out a dangerous opponent, build my stack, and establish a table image that discourages all-in steals.

In reality he had 11 outs (and might have guessed that) -- 8 for the flush and 3 for top pair. That gave him 47% chance to win by the river. I can't say that was a bad call at all.

Had you checked the flop, and the turn wasn't a diamond, King, or Ace, you could have pushed on the flop and offered him 3-to-1 odds against. He might have layed down at that point.

10 outs... he had 10 outs. Not 11. Still that's 43%.

There's a reason I'm not winning big.

Yes Alan, your an idiot.. lol. Just kidding.. Actually I do not think his flop play was totally horrible.. He had ALOT of outs.. 7 flush cards and 3 overcards.

I think his pre-flop play was so stupid as to be moronic. He was the one who called off almost his entire stack with KT in that 3-way hand KT vs 99 vs my AQ. He is an idiot. I also disagree about his ability to laydown his hand on the turn. I think odd's to him are things you get on slot machines. I could be wrong but donkeys always draw and I do not think I was getting away from this.

I think if people want to draw on you then you HAVE GOT TO make them pay huge.. I am just bitching because the pre-flop call was terrible and I personally would not risk that much on a flush draw and he won.

The thing that hurts the most is there were only 2 cards in the deck he could have had that would beat me: Ace of Diamonds, King of Diamonds, if he was a REAL donkey and had called my bet with the 9 of diamonds then I would have been stylin'.

It's all just kind of frustrating when you come back from the brink of elimination and end up with a great chance to get the chips to make the final table and then *SLAM* .. Donkey calls huge bet pre-flop, Donkey hits miracle 3-cards post flop, donkey hits miracle river card.

The other thing.. with the pot at 20K, the only really move for me that is going to scare anyone is all in.. because my turn bet I only have 10K more and you already called off 20K so why not another ten..

Waffles, that is a sucky way to go, but in all seriousness that is pretty commonplace stuff in these low-buyin (even with rebuy) events. No that doesn't make them anything but donkey plays, but nonetheless, the only reason I EVER don't win the $5 and $10 buyin tourneys on stars is because of plays Just Like This, every single goddam night like clockwork. In fact, to be perfectly honest, I tend to agree with alan, in that to me a guy hitting a 35% nut flush draw is nowhere near the worst beat you see with complete and total regularity on line (lord knows especially on pokerstars!). It's much more frustrating to me when I goad a guy to moving in on me on a flop of Q82 rainbow with his QJ against my QA, and then STILL lose to a runner runner flush or runner runner straight. This guy hit a 35% shot on the flop, that's going to happen 1 in 3 times.

But I am 100% with you on the frustration level of going out to a play like this after putting up a GREAT run to get where you're at in a tournament. That's why playing the big tourneys, it's so hard to consistently make the big money. Donkeys Always Draw baybeee!

See you tonight at WWdN I hope. I believe one of us has some medicine still to take from the other....

Hoyza - Hence the post, although, I jest, and I probably will torture myself some more by playing these, maybe. The pre-flop call was the worse part about the whole thing.. I mean your chances of flopping 3 of the same suit of one of your hole cards are pretty bad.. bah!

I lost on the bubble of a MTT Sat for the Sunday tourney in a similar fashion.

After I threw a toilet and said some choice words, I was fine.

Only difference was he barely had me covered while chasing the 4 flush.

I am reading a book called Zen and the Art of Poker. In it, the author makes a very interesting point. We should not expect our opponents to be playing the same game as us. They have their own style and to mentally impose on them our style will only hurt us. Anyway, I thought it was somewhat relevent. You expect him to act as you would have acted in that situation. Sadly, it doesn't work that way. I feel for you though. No doubt about that.

Naked aces are gold for big preflop raises. Didn't you get the memo?

I like the all-in decision on the flop.

How much did you have invested in this tourney? I ask because it looked like the average price was around 12 bucks. Assuming you do 1 rebuy and 1 addon, it's hard to not want to play these, as you're basically getting a discount to play in it......

I was in it for $9, Buyin, Add-on to start, Addon at break. So I pocketed 18 bucks or something in that range.. I might still play these games but damn they piss me off somestime..

Waffles, I posted about the Foxwoods tourney. You should check it out sometime. Same stupid plays you find online. I played in the Friday which is $100 buyin but most morning tourneys down there are $60. The house takes a huge cut but the winner on Friday still came away with $5K.

Overall, I wasn't that impressed with the players that I had at my table. I think being the only show in town, there are a lot of tourists, like myself in those tourneys every day.

Let me know if you want any more info.
